Annie Ramirez wins gold, PH gets seven other medals in Asian Jiujitsu Championship


The Philippines has already bagged at least eight medals in the Asian Jiujitsu Championship in Amman, Jordan which started last May 23.

Asian Games gold medalist Annie Ramirez won the gold in the female 57kg division to banner the country’s medal haul.

Kaila Napolis settled for silver in the female 52kg event, while Dylan Chrystle Valmores also claimed silver in the female 70kg event.

Baby Jhen Bunzon claimed bronze in the fighting female 52kg event.

The other bronze medalists include Kimberly Anne Custodio (female 45kg), Joanne Pauline Tan (female 70kg), Carlo Angelo Pena (male 56kg), and Santino Luis Luzuriaga (male 62kg).

The tournament will run until Monday where the country’s U21 athletes will participate.
