MANILA, Philippines — Aboitiz Energy Corp. has assumed management and operation of a 735-megawatt (MW) coal energy station in Quezon following the contract expiration of Japanese-controlled Crew Power Corp.
After almost three many years, Crew Power handed again the management of the Pagbilao coal-fired thermal energy plant to the federal government via the Energy Sector Property and Liabilities Administration Corp. (PSALM).
Following the switch to the federal government, AboitizPower subsidiary Therma Luzon Inc. (TLI) acquired the power from PSALM.
“Our efforts have been profitable, because the plant has been turned over in glorious situation, able to proceed producing the much-needed electrical energy for the Luzon grid,” Crew Power chairman and officer-in-charge Jun Sano mentioned.
Situated within the municipality of Pagbilao, the coal plant consists of two producing models with a capability of 367.5 MW every.
The plant was developed below a build-operate-transfer (BOT) scheme with the federal government, which was then represented by Nationwide Energy Corp.
Crew Philippines Power Corp., the group’s retail electrical energy provide arm, will likewise proceed to function and ship service to its purchasers.
